Massa: Serious Contender or Overrated No. 2?
Felipe Massa. There's no denying he's fast. In fact over a lap he is probably the fastest driver on the grid. But of the ten pole positions he has scored, only five have resulted in a win. Not very impressive if you look at the pole to win ratio of greats like Michael Schumacher or Fernando Alonso. Yet take Ayrton Senna's, a ratio pretty similar to Massa's, and Senna was a three times world champion.
The first two races of the season did not go Massa's way, with two retirements after decent performances in qualifying. Bahrain was his make or break race, with increasing pressure from the Italian media and the threat of Alonso joining Ferrari in 2009. And he pulled it out of the bag right when he needed to. But was it too late?
The Brazilian is nine points behind team mate Kimi Raikkonen, which is alot, and no championship contenders should have to rely on the opposition to have a bad result to get into the hunt again.
How do you rate Massa? Has he already confined himself to a number two place within the team, or can he get back up there with his team mate? You tell us...

Bit of both. He can be so good, yet so bad. I think he's too unreliable to mount a serious challenge.
